Well, actually, it was part one.
I went to an Amnesty meeting last November and stupidly agreed to be the 'China person'- what I thought would be to collect and disseminate information. Not realising that I am the lead on action for the Olympics.
Any ideas what action we should be taking in Dumfries? There are only a handful of us. I am meant to come up with ideas. As most of you know, I am not an ideas person. This is going to be difficult. At least they will be humane....

All I know is that Steven Spielberg has bowed out because of their lack of progress on the human rights issues! As for Dumfries, I'm not sure what the best way would be to approach it! Stay tuned for more input...Ma
Stage some local Olympics in Dumfries, Beijing Style and the prizes can be human rights abuses. So, the person to run the fastest along the Nith River gets imprisoned without trial. Highest pole vaulter gets exiled to Castle Douglas. The synchronised swimming team winners have their access to the internet removed.

I was trying to think of funny suggestions but I can't. So I'll be deadly serious. I think any form of public awareness is great. Most people don't understand just what China is doing across the world, and what a direct impact they have on the Sudan, for example. So march in the streets, baby... pass out pamphlets, and be interviewed on radio! That's what I say. Maybe if more citizens knew about even SOME of the atrocities, we'd have had more chance of boycotting the Olympics, or even making change in the UN. Who knows?
