"Who do you think you will vote for?"
Me: "Well, I would vote Green...."
Old guy: "There isn't a Green candidate, though."
Me: "I know, but there is an Independent candidate who promotes green issues."
Old Guy: "We both know that person won't win, and if you vote for them, then the Tories will get in again. It's a wasted vote."
I would have seriously thought about it, however about two minutes before he showed up at the door I had been to the end of the drive to get the garbage bin, with Mae on my back. Obviously struggling, I see a gaggle of these canvassers coming up the street. Not one of them offered to help. So bite me.
And on the subject of new pictures in this blog, here is a beautiful watercolour Mae did at school last week.
And a couple of rationed cute kid photos. With obligatory message....miniactivisto.
And random thought for the day?
'Poo is in the air' (sillage spreading time, methinks. the only downside of living in a rural area)
Hope that ticked a few boxes.

Aargh!! How did you get the beautiful watercolour framed already?? Can I send you my girls' artworks that I've saved in a special drawer, swearing I'll frame them "later this week". They've been collecting over the last 14 months or so.
Also, there is no such thing as a wasted vote. We have a multiparty system, not a 2 party system so they should stop peddling that tired argument.
Is it the argument that's tired or is it me?
Dana gave me that frame years ago, and it was sitting there begging to be put up- finally the perfect picture came.
and wasted vote- we got a good morning piece of wasted paper today- another warning not to waste your vote and let the Tories in the back door. GOOOOOD morning!!
I gave you a frame?! Why did I do that? Was there a picture in it? No picture could look as good as the one you have in it...it's beautiful!
Headed to my art show opening this evening...wishing I had some of my kids' art framed too!
Dana
About the vote... I had a whole speech planned. But Sharon said most of it! It's definitely the argument that's tired, even you are too, Sharon. I will add this though... how stupid are they if they think that a vote to a smaller party or an independent allows the tories in... why not the liberals? And in that case, isn't a vote for the tories a wasted vote? All the tories could vote for whoever they wanted if it still meant they'd get in!
