Global warming

Geoff and I watched this programme about global warming last year, saying that Scotland was in for a new ice age. I didn't realise that they meant this year. IT'S FREEZING!!!!

So here http://www.changeyourworld.org.uk/, change your world. And mine. Send me some socks.

That took a while...

Nothin really going on in the last couple of weeks, work, junk like that.

But today Sharon and I went on a silver jewellry making course at work (her late birthday gift) and look what I made!! Check out Sharon's blog for more pics.
It was so cool, you get this clay that you have to work REALLY fast (or it dries out) and then fire it, and ta da! I just flattened mine and stuck a fish bead in it. After that I painted some sulfer dioxide on it and it turns colour- you don't know what you are going to get, but this is perfect. It's 99.9% silver! (And stirling is 92.5%)- so it's good stuff. So that's that. Hopefully I am back in the blog world.

See ya Nonnie!

Well, mum headed back to rainy Canada on Saturday. We had a great, if tiring, time. Mom helped us move here last year and we kept her chained to the house, so she didn't see any of the area. Plus, last year it was freezing.

So we have been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlisle, and about an hour's drive in every other direction. Castles, abbeys, beaches, farms, monasteries. Every shop in south west Scotland. Every tea room in the area. Lots of wine. Lots of face painting, hair pinning up, playing pirates and princesses.

It was good.

where did weeks 2 and 3 go?

Well, we went to Glasgow (thanks for babysitting, Sharon!).
Mae started Jumpin Joey's, a kids gym class (she is doing well, and attached to the centre is a cafe where I can sit for 45 minutes, chilling out each week, which I am looking forward to)
Mom went to Threave Gardens with Mae and Lillian, which apparently is lovely, haven't been there myself before but I will add a link.
Mom and Mae spent lots of time together, painting faces, picnicking in the rain in the park.
We took Mom to Samye Ling, the Tibetan Monastery. Mom is now a fully paid up Buddhist. That day we went to an artists house on the site, as it was Spring Fling, an open weekend- they had Yaks in their back garden. Like camp cows, but a bit smellier.
I had an event at work, the Make do and Mend Day, recalling WWII, which was a success.
Mom and I went to the pub, which we shall be doing again before she goes. This time, no car, but a drunken walk home.

Stuff like that.

Week 4 Preview- We'll be in Edinburgh this weekend and until Tuesday. We need to go to Carlisle, we also need to do Hadrians Wall and Drumlanrig Castle.
I am definetly going to need a holiday after this...! We've had a great time, though, and Mae and her Nonnie have really clicked again, except for sharing the corn holders. That's been a slight issue. But how do you teach a senior to share?
